LiveTalk! About the LiveTalk Feature
LiveTalk lets users engage in an online chat - using voice communications - the same as an Amateur Radio net operation. To use LiveChat you must have Windows 95 or newer operating system, a sound board, speakers and a microphone attached to the mic input.

The first time you access LiveTalk, you will be asked to download an ActiveX control. Once the control is downloaded, you can then begin to talk over the Internet within the Ham Radio Online Live Discussion area.

LiveTalk is provided through EGroups and the Talk feature is presently in Beta test. The Talk screen will display other options such as discussion boards, online polls and so forth - but none of those are in use here at Ham Radio Online at this time.

Note that if no one else is present in the Talk system, all you can do is talk to yourself... which is probably not very interesting. If this technology looks promising, I will try to arrange some scheduled LiveTalk sessions open to everyone. Comments, questions or suggestions for the use of this feature can be sent to kf7vy@amsat.org.
